The Murazzi are wide walls in Istria Stone built by the end of XVIII Century by the Republic of Venice to defend the towns of the lagoon from the sea erosion. They are divided into three parts, the first one on the Lido island, the second one on the island of Pellestrina till Cà Roman, the third one in Sottomarina starts from Forte San Felice till the centre of Sottomarina for about 1200 metres; a long time ago it continued for another 570 metres and was made with dykes and walls, now completely demolished.
